Philip Bloom Interview (Part 1 of 2)
mobile|divide™ recently had the distinct pleasure of interviewing Philip Bloom. A gifted DP who sculpts his films with the artfulness of “bokeh” to create some of the most awe-inspiring visuals moving at 24 frames per second. He is also one of the leading pioneers of the HD-DSLR film movement. Not only that but he’s a huge fan of mobile devices! Philip was gracious enough to speak with us while visiting NYC during a brief trip over from London. This is the first of a two part interview series.

Great work Serko!!! keep up the blog work. looking forward to seeing some more great posts!
This interview with Bloom was very cool simply because mobile divide gives you the raw story. I liked the fact that Serko segued into Blooms film career;mainly because Bloom is really at the top of his filmmaking, check out his time-lapse videos using DSLR’s on Vimeo. Public opinions and ratings are the new way to deconstruct the gadgets that all have their flaws. I always feel like I’m one step ahead when following Mdivide, thanks so much for sharing this uselful information.
Where was this filmed? I’ve never heard of this filmmaker, but I’m now motivated to find out more about him. I enjoyed listening to him describe how he has two iPhones, but also relies on his Blackberry for communication. I am in the same boat, and wonder if I may become a two phone guy again.
Looking forward to part II. This was really fun to watch and informative. Nice jo.
It was filmed at vimeo’s Headquarters in NYC.
One of Philip’s best bits on camera me thinks!
